The appendices contain auxiliary materials that were not included in the site main content. However, they are an inalienable part of the learning process of relational databases design and maintenance. Further development of the project does not exclude the addition of new appendices.
We are bringing to your attention a group of appendices with the results of logical and physical design of the "LIBRARY" database. The information entered into the "LIBRARY" database for studying the techniques of working with relational databases is given.
Pay due attention to these appendices. It will help you gain the practical skills and necessary knowledge to design, organize and maintain relational databases.
Purpose: to give an example of the developer's reasoning logic at the stage of a relational database logical modeling.
The logical model of the "LIBRARY" database is presented in the appendix. As a result of logical modeling, a link diagram between relations and their specifications was obtained. Additionally, descriptions for each relationship are provided. This will help you comprehend the logic of relational database design.
Purpose: to show the strong relation between logical and physical modeling of a relational database.
The physical model of the educational "LIBRARY" database are presented in the appendix. The definition of the physical model of the database is given in the lectures. The choice of the DBMS which is recommended to be used for teaching the organization of relational databases is substantiated.
Purpose: to reveal the peculiarities of adding information to a relational database without violating the integrity of entities, referential integrity, and corporate integrity constraints.
The appendix represents information that is contained in the educational database "LIBRARY". It is necessary for learning SQL queries and data views.
Purpose: to get an idea about the objective, structure, and sequence of DDL and DML commands of the SQL language using the example of creating a database "LIBRARY".
